Despre editor: Nicolae Gudea (1941-2019)

Nicolae Gudea a fost unul dintre cei mai proeminenți și respectați arheologi și istorici români, un specialist de talie internațională în studiul provinciilor Dacia și Pannonia din Imperiul Roman. Născut la Zlatna, și-a dedicat întreaga carieră cercetării arheologice, în special a frontierei romane (limes) din Dacia Porolissensis (nord-vestul României). A fost profesor la Universitatea „Babeș-Bolyai” din Cluj-Napoca și a condus numeroase șantiere arheologice, cel mai important fiind cel de la Porolissum. Punctul culminant al carierei sale a fost organizarea în România, la Zalău, în 1997, a celei de-a XVII-a ediții a Congresului Internațional de Studii privind Frontierele Romane (Limes Congress). Nicolae Gudea a fost editorul principal al acestui volum monumental, care reunește contribuțiile celor mai importanți specialiști din lume în acest domeniu, consolidându-i reputația de savant de prim rang.
