Despre carte: CCNP BSCI (Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks)

Deepen Your Routing Knowledge with the Classic CCNP BSCI Guide!

Important Note: The book „CCNP BSCI” is not a novel, but a specialized technical study guide for a Cisco certification exam that is now long retired. The main „characters” of this book are advanced routing protocols and networking concepts.

About the Authors: Brent D. Stewart and Clare Gough

Brent D. Stewart and Clare Gough are recognized authors and experts in the networking field, with extensive experience in Cisco technologies. Brent D. Stewart is an IT professional with multiple certifications, known for his contributions to various official certification guides from Cisco Press, specializing particularly in routing and switching technologies. Clare Gough is an experienced technical writer and editor who has collaborated on creating many high-quality study materials for networking professionals. Together, they combine practical, real-world experience with a clear pedagogical approach, managing to explain complex topics in a structured and easy-to-assimilate manner, which has made their guides valuable resources for network engineers.

About the Book: CCNP BSCI (Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks)

The certification guide for the „CCNP BSCI” (Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks, e.g., 642-901) exam was an essential resource for network engineers pursuing the CCNP certification under an older curriculum. Although this exam has been retired for many years, the book remains a valuable source of fundamental and in-depth knowledge of IP routing.

The work focuses exclusively on the technologies and concepts needed to build complex and scalable IP networks. The „protagonists” of this book are the advanced routing protocols. The book offers a detailed exploration of EIGRP and OSPF (including multi-area operation), two of the most important interior gateway protocols. It also introduces the reader to the world of BGP (Border Gateway Protocol), the fundamental protocol that makes the global internet work. In addition, the guide covers critical topics such as route redistribution between different protocols, traffic filtering, and advanced concepts of IPv4 and IPv6 addressing. Although the command examples are based on older versions of Cisco IOS, the logic and operating principles of these protocols are timeless and form the foundation of modern networks.

Build a solid theoretical foundation in advanced routing! For network engineers who want to deeply understand the „why” and „how” behind EIGG, OSPF, and BGP, this classic book can still be a priceless resource. Purchase this guide to strengthen your fundamental knowledge!
